About GEAPS Exchange 2020

GEAPS Exchange is a great place to make new connections in the grain industry, find operations solutions and learn about new technologies and best practices from across the industry. With nearly 400 exhibitors in the Expo, nearly 40 hours of education and a number of social events, the Exchange is the best place to make connections and advance your career!

Exchange will take place in Minneapolis, MN at the Minneapolis Convention Center March 21-24, 2020.

Concurrent Education Sessions

Hour-long presentations based on GEAPS core competencies.

Idea Exchange

The Idea Exchange features 12 to 15 participants delivering approximately five minute presentations. The program includes two segments:

"Small Changes….Big Impact!" highlights ideas that grain operations managers and workers put into practice to improve safety or efficiency at their facilities or enhance environmental awareness, company culture or community involvement.

"What's New?" includes new products and services developed for grain operations during the past year.

Expo Pods

The most interactive learning opportunity at the Exchange, Expo Pods offer hands-on learning opportunities in the Expo Hall. Designed for groups of up to 60 attendees these sessions feature interactive presentations and equipment demonstrations. Presentations include hands-on time and question-and-answer sessions. PowerPoints are not to be used during the Expo Pods and commercialism is strictly prohibited. The 2020 Expo Pod theme is Confined Spaces.

The following topics are themes the EPC would like to provide education on at Exchange 2020. A few additional topics will be chosen based on current industry needs in May 2019.

Education Policy and Procedures

Non-commercial Nature of the GEAPS Exchange Education Program

To maintain educational integrity, presenters are advised not to use their session(s) as a platform for promotion of their products and services or for monetary gain. GEAPS provides a unique forum for professionals to have an open dialogue and a creative exchange of ideas free from commercial content.

Honoraria, Travel Expenses and Complimentary Registration

As a non-profit association, GEAPS does not pay an honorarium for concurrent session presentations at Exchange. In addition, the speaker is responsible for all travel-related and accommodation expenses. Persons selected to speak at concurrent education sessions or the Opening Workshop will be provided with the option of a full complimentary registration for the duration of the entire conference, including social events. Persons selected to speak at the Idea Exchange or Expo Pods will receive a complimentary registration for the duration of the entire conference including Expo Hall and education access, but not including social events.

Education Committee Presentation Review and Selection Process—The GEAPS Exchange Education Planning Committee (EPC) consists of members from all avenues of the grain industry with many years of industry experience. The committee’s role is to review, plan and evaluate GEAPS’ education programming for the Exchange.

Review/Selection Process

The selection process involves a review of every complete presentation application submitted prior to the deadline. All presentations are selected on the basis of the information submitted. Those submitting are expected to follow all instructions carefully and provide all requested information. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. Typically, more presentations are submitted than can be accepted. Only the best presentations are selected for the Exchange; the committee selects presentations designed to encourage high audience interaction/participation by incorporating multiple interactive strategies to engage participants such as, facilitated delivery with high participation involvement, peer-to-peer components, large and small group discussions, participant brainstorming components and participant involvement in case study analyses.

DO NOT

  • Insult or put down anyone at the event, even if you think you're 'just joking'; sexist, religious, racist, discriminatory, gender, sexual orientation, physical appearance, disability, age or other similarly derogatory-based jokes or comments are never acceptable at any Splunk event
  • Harass others or behave in a way that is uncivil or intended to be derogatory or hateful towards others
  • Take photos or recordings of others (or their materials) without their permission
  • Sell merchandise or exhibit any of your company material at any event without your company's and Splunk's prior written permission
  • Display derogatory, demeaning (e.g., sexually suggestive, crude, racist), or otherwise offensive images in public places

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns during the event, please contact an event staff member. Event staff members will be wearing badges or clothing to indicate their position.

Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide safety escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe during Splunk events. We value your attendance and cooperation. Thank you for attending!
